Two teams with European aspirations faced off in the 23rd round of La Liga

In the 23rd round of La Liga, two teams with European aspirations faced off as Celta Vigo hosted Real Betis.

The first half was dominated by the visitors. Just 10 minutes in, Antony, a recent signing from Manchester United, opened the scoring with a shot into the bottom left corner. Midway through the first half, Juan Llorente headed in a goal under the crossbar to double the lead for the Seville-based side.

Betis had chances to seal the win before halftime, hitting the woodwork twice in the 30th minute from Cédric Bakambu and Joaquín Rodríguez’s efforts.

But they would rue those missed opportunities as Celta turned the game around in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Beltrán pulled one back for the hosts with a stunning strike into the top corner. Just three minutes later, Gabriel Galiano fired a brilliant shot into the post to level the score.

The fate of the match was sealed in the 87th minute when Swedberg latched onto a pass from Carreira and delivered a sensational strike, completing Celta Vigo's dramatic 3-2 comeback win.
