Luka Modrić Sets Another Historic Record in Spanish Football
In an exciting Copa del Rey quarter-final match against Leganés (3-2), Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modrić scored one of the goals, further solidifying his legendary status in the world of football.
At the age of 39 years and 149 days, the Croatian veteran became the oldest player to score in a Copa del Rey quarter-final. The previous record was held by Luis Marín, who netted for Granada against Castellón on May 31, 1945, at 38 years and 269 days old.
Earlier in his illustrious career, Modrić had already become the oldest player and top scorer in the history of Real Madrid. With his contract set to expire this summer, there's still time for the midfield maestro to break even more records.
