The Saudi Arabian chapter of Steven Gerrard’s managerial career has come to a close

The Saudi Arabian chapter of Steven Gerrard’s managerial career has come to a close.

The former Liverpool legend has requested to be released from his duties at Al-Ittifaq, citing "personal reasons" for his decision to part ways with the club.

Gerrard’s 18-month tenure in the Saudi Pro League has not been a success. Despite ambitious plans and high expectations, he failed to achieve significant progress during his time with Al-Ittifaq.

In his first season, the team showed little improvement, and his struggles continued into the current campaign, where Al-Ittifaq find themselves languishing in 12th place in the league standings, with 5 wins, 4 draws, and 8 losses to their name.
