Lamine Yamal

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that rising star Lamine Yamal will miss the upcoming La Liga fixture against Celta Vigo, prioritizing the young player's full recovery over rushing his return to the pitch.

"Lamine will not be available for the match against Celta. We’re not willing to take any risks," Flick stated decisively in his pre-match press conference.

The 17-year-old winger has been sidelined since November 6th due to an injury sustained in a UEFA Champions League clash. Flick refrained from providing a concrete timeline for Yamal’s return:

"He will come back when he feels 100% fit and ready to play."

Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League fixture on November 26th against Stade Brestois at the Camp Nou could mark Yamal’s return. The team is hoping to have their young sensation back in action for this crucial encounter, especially as they aim to solidify their position in the tournament’s group stage.

For now, Barcelona will need to rely on their squad depth to handle Celta Vigo and continue their push at the top of the La Liga table.
