Manchester City have completed a deal to re-sign Ilkay Gundogan

Manchester City have completed a deal to re-sign Ilkay Gundogan from Barcelona on a one-year deal.

The midfielder spent seven hugely successful seasons at the Etihad before moving to the La Liga side in June 2023.

"I’m incredibly happy,” Gundogan said. “Happy to see the team-mates, the staff, people that over seven years I had an amazing time with, a very successful time with. Many ups, a few downs, but in general, an incredible experience.

When you leave this place like I did last year, you spend a year away, you then start to appreciate the place even more. You realise what you had. You realise how amazing that time was. You realise how big the club is - the best club in the world".

Over the course of his remarkable first stint at the Club, the German won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, two Community Shields and one Champions League, making 304 appearances and scoring 60 goals.
