Metalist-1925 signed a contract with a new head coach

Metalist-1925 signed a contract with a new head coach - a 55-year-old Patrick van Leeuwen.

Van Leeuwen previously worked in the UPL as the head coach of Zorya and Shakhtar. In the 2022/2023 season with Zorya he won bronze medals of the Ukrainian Championship and became Coach of the year. In the summer of 2023 the Dutchman replaced Igor Jovicevich at the head of Shakhtar, however worked at the Donetsk club only until October and was fired after a series of unsuccessful results.

In the Ukrainian championships teams led by Patrick van Leeuwen played 39 matches, in which they got 25 victories, suffered 7 defeats and drew 7 times.

Metalist-1925 in the 2024/25 season plays in the First League of Ukraine.
