Matvienko leads Shakhtar into the European spring

Shakhtar has extended its European season to the spring matches. The Miners have defeated Antwerp thanks to an only goal by Matviyenko and guaranteed themself a place in Europa League playoffs. However, Marino Pusic's team can still compete for the 1/8 finals of the Champions League - it will all be decide in the last group stage match against Porto.
