The own goal of the striker of the Ukrainian national team Andriy Yarmolenko in the final match of the selection for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar was rewritten for the striker of the Wales national team Gareth Bale. This was reported in the social networks of the Welsh national team with reference to the decision of FIFA.

The match ended 1-0 in favor of Wales. The only goal was scored in the 35th minute. Bale took a free kick, the ball hit Yarmolenko's head, and it was on him that the own goal was recorded. Thanks to the victory over Ukraine, the Wales team reached the World Cup, where they will play in the same group with England, the USA and Iran.
