Lautaro Martinez has been named the Inter Player of the Season for 2021/22. The Nerazzurri fans crowned the Argentinian striker as the team’s top performer this year in a survey shared on the club’s official Instagram page.

El Toro proved indispensable this season, with 49 appearances under his belt across all competitions, notching up 3293 minutes in total. He played a key role in the Nerazzurri attacking line, beating his previous goal-scoring record. In two career highs, Lautaro bagged 25 goals in total and 21 in Serie A. He is only the fifth player under the age of 25 in Inter’s history to score 20 goals or more in the league.

Lautaro topped the goal tally for Inter this season, scoring in every competition, including when he played a crucial role in winning the Italian Super Cup and Coppa Italia. And it doesn’t stop there. With 159 total shots this year, and 67 on target, he was the Inter player to take the most shots in 2021/22. El Toro was a constant threat for the opposition defence.
