Lyon - Nice 2:1

Olympique Lyonnais produced a spirited comeback to defeat OGC Nice 2-1 in the final match of the seventh round of Ligue 1, moving to the top of the French league standings on goal difference. The victory was hard-earned, with Lyon forced to withstand intense late pressure after being reduced to 10 men in the second half.

Nice made the perfect start, taking the lead early in the contest through Élye Wahi, who finished off a well-worked attacking move. However, Lyon responded quickly, seizing control of the match and turning the scoreline around in a devastating three-minute spell.

First, Pavel Šulc reacted quickest to a rebound inside the penalty area to restore parity. Moments later, Tanner Tessmann completed the turnaround, rising to meet a cross from the flank and powering a header into the net to give Lyon a 2-1 advantage.

The hosts faced a major setback midway through the second half when Keito Nakamura was sent off, leaving Lyon with 10 men for the remainder of the match. Nice seized the opportunity to push forward, striking the woodwork and piling pressure on the home defence.

The visitors thought they had snatched a dramatic late equaliser in the closing minutes, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside. Lyon survived the late scare, showing defensive resilience and determination to protect their slender lead until the final whistle.
