Spain stunned England at Wembley in a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory, with Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal both finding the net in a dramatic contest. But it was Kane's missed penalty that proved pivotal as the European champions turned the game around in London.

Spain arrived at Wembley with a new-look crest featuring two championship stars and made an explosive start. Just two minutes into the match, Marc Guehi lost track of Lamine Yamal, who stole in behind the England defence, raced through one-on-one and calmly slotted the ball into the far bottom corner.

England struggled to settle, while Ferran Torres squandered several excellent opportunities to extend Spain's lead. The visitors were made to pay just before half-time. Nico Williams slipped just outside his own penalty area, allowing England to launch a rapid counter-attack. Anthony Gordon kept his composure to beat the goalkeeper and level the score.

Just four minutes later, England had turned the game on its head. Nico O'Reilly delivered a cross from the left, Harry Kane rose to meet it with a header and the ball took a decisive deflection off Marc Cucurella before finding the far corner. England went into the break 2-1 ahead.

The second half could hardly have started more dramatically. Kane stepped up from the penalty spot but struck the crossbar, missing a huge opportunity to put England two goals clear. Had the captain converted, the task facing Spain would have been considerably tougher.

Luis de la Fuente reacted immediately with a double substitution, and the move quickly paid dividends. In the 60th minute, Alex Baena found space on the edge of the box before curling a superb effort into the bottom corner to make it 2-2.

Spain then completed the turnaround in the 74th minute. Two quick vertical passes cut through the England defensive lines, allowing Mikel Oyarzabal to lift the ball delicately over the goalkeeper and give the visitors a 3-2 lead.
