Brighton Humiliate Arsenal on Club's 125th Anniversary

A major Premier League shock saw Brighton & Hove Albion sweep aside reigning champions Arsenal with a stunning 3-0 victory. On the day the club celebrated the 125th anniversary of its first professional match, Fabian Hürzeler's side produced one of their finest performances under the German head coach.
Pascal Groß, Babí Kostoulas and Chema Andrés were on target for Brighton, with the latter making his first league start in the process. The result gave the Seagulls a memorable victory on a landmark day for the club.
Arsenal looked unusually short of ideas and attacking threat. Before Brighton's third goal, the visitors had managed just one shot on target and registered a remarkably low xG. The Gunners had a chance to reduce the deficit when Kai Havertz found himself in a promising shooting position, but Bart Verbruggen produced an excellent save with his feet to keep his clean sheet intact.
It could have been even worse for Arsenal. In the closing stages, Brighton created two more clear opportunities, forcing David Raya into action to prevent an even heavier defeat.
