AC Milan made a winning start to their new Serie A campaign, beating Torino 2-1 away from home in Ruben Amorim's first match in charge. The visitors controlled the game for long spells, dominated possession and kept Torino under sustained pressure.

That pressure finally paid off midway through the second half. Alfajo Cisse broke the deadlock with a composed finish before, just two minutes later, Adrien Rabiot doubled AC Milan's advantage by converting a precise assist from Samuel Chukwueze.

Torino finally found another gear in the closing stages and threw players forward in search of a comeback. The hosts managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Che Adams, but there was no time for a second goal.
