CONCACAF has become the latest football governing body to voice strong opposition to FIFA's controversial proposal to bring private investors into the management of the commercial rights of the FIFA World Cup. The regional confederation argued that national football associations were never properly consulted, insisting that reforms of such significance should not move forward without broad discussion across the global football community.

At the centre of the debate is the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative, which would see FIFA sell a minority stake valued at approximately $4.2 billion. Football's world governing body says the funds would be reinvested into the long-term development of the game worldwide, supporting infrastructure, competitions and grassroots projects.

However, the plan continues to face mounting resistance. UEFA has already been among its most vocal critics, warning that the project could accelerate the commercialisation of football while creating potential conflicts of interest in the governance of the new entity.
