Manchester City have confirmed that star midfielder Rodri has successfully undergone minor back surgery after playing through discomfort for an extended period. The procedure was carried out to resolve the issue, and the Spanish international will now begin a short rehabilitation programme before returning to full training.

In an official statement, Manchester City wished the midfielder a speedy recovery and assured supporters that further updates on his rehabilitation will be provided as he progresses.

Rodri has established himself as one of the world's leading midfielders in recent years. The Spain international played a pivotal role in his country's triumph at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he was named the tournament's Best Player after a series of commanding performances.
