Australia celebrated a landmark moment at the Winter Olympics 2026 as Cooper Woods claimed gold in the men’s moguls competition after a dramatic final showdown.

Woods posted a score of 83.71 points in the final — exactly the same total as Canada’s Mikael Kingsbury. However, the Australian edged ahead on the judges’ evaluation of turn technique, which ultimately proved decisive in separating the two athletes at the top of the podium.

The bronze medal was secured by reigning world champion Ikuma Horishima, who finished with 83.44 points, narrowly missing out on a higher place in a tightly contested final.
