France Football names France’s best player and coach of 2025

The latest issue of France Football has revealed the results of its annual vote to determine the best player and best coach in France for 2025. While the awards focused exclusively on domestic football, there was little suspense in the headline category, with Ousmane Dembélé claiming the top individual honour after already lifting the Ballon d’Or.
Dembélé topped the voting with 121 points, finishing well clear of Kylian Mbappé on 51 points and Désiré Doué, who collected 34 points. All other shortlisted candidates received fewer than ten points.
For the PSG forward, this marks his first Best Player of France award. The accolade had gone to Mbappé in each of the previous two seasons.
The title of Best Coach in France for 2025 was awarded to Bruno Génésio, head coach of Lille. The coaching vote proved far tighter, with Génésio edging out Régis Le Bris of Sunderland, who finished on 36 points, and Sonia Bompastor, head coach of Chelsea Women, who received 24 points.
