Formula 1: Norris Wins São Paulo Sprint as Piastri Retires

Starting from pole position, the championship leader executed a flawless race to take the win — marking the first time in the history of the Brazilian Grand Prix that a driver has converted pole into a sprint victory. Norris’s lights-to-flag performance further solidified his growing reputation as one of F1’s elite talents.
His teammate and closest title rival, Oscar Piastri, suffered a nightmare start, sliding off track early in the race and failing to finish. The incident proved costly, as Norris extended his lead in the drivers’ standings from just one point to nine.
The top eight sprint finishers — all earning points — were: Lando Norris (McLaren), Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), George Russell (Mercedes), Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari), and Pierre Gasly (Alpine).
