Portugal tighten their grip at the top of Group F

Cristiano Ronaldo was back among the goals as Portugal claimed a hard-fought 3–2 win away to Hungary in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

In a thrilling encounter in Budapest, Bernardo Silva opened the scoring for the visitors before Ronaldo doubled the lead. João Cancelo later added a third, which proved crucial as Hungary’s Barnabás Varga struck twice to keep the hosts in the game until the final whistle.

With the win, Portugal tighten their grip at the top of Group F, while Hungary remain in third place.
