Shakhtar</b> continue their tradition of investing in young Brazilian talent

Shakhtar Donetsk have officially announced the signing of highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Lucas dos Santos Ferreira from São Paulo FC.

The 19-year-old talent has penned a long-term deal with the Ukrainian giants, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2030. According to media reports, the transfer fee is worth €10 million upfront, with an additional €2 million in performance-related bonuses.

Lucas Ferreira began his footballing journey at local side Americano, before progressing through the youth systems of Flamengo and Boavista. In 2021, he joined São Paulo, signing his first professional contract with the club in March 2023.
