UEFA Champions League Final 2026/27 Set to Return to Madrid’s Metropolitano
The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League Final is heading to Madrid, with Spanish outlet Vozpópuli reporting that the showpiece event will be held at the Estadio Metropolitano, home of Atlético Madrid.
The Spanish capital's state-of-the-art stadium has been selected following UEFA's decision to rule out Milan’s iconic San Siro due to infrastructure concerns. The only other serious contender — the Olympic Stadium in Baku — reportedly had its bid rejected earlier this year.
While the official announcement is expected in September, the agreement is said to be in place, with UEFA awarding hosting rights to Metropolitano Stadium, marking a return to the venue that staged the 2019 Champions League Final, where Liverpool defeated Tottenham 2–0.
