Talks between the club and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner are said to be in full swing

Cristiano Ronaldo could be staying in Saudi Arabia until the summer of 2027, with Al Nassr reportedly ready to offer the Portuguese legend a two-year contract extension, according to insider Fabrizio Romano.

Talks between the club and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner are said to be in full swing, with both sides keen to finalise terms that would see Ronaldo remain in the Saudi Pro League until age 42.

For Ronaldo, the potential deal has historical significance. He has openly declared his ambition to become the first footballer in history to score 1,000 official career goals. As it stands, the 39-year-old sits on 938 goals. He netted 35 times last season - a prolific return that puts the milestone within reach if he maintains similar form over the next two campaigns.

Earlier this year, Ronaldo explored several options for continuing his career, including moves back to Europe or the MLS. However, the opportunity to remain the focal point of Al Nassr’s attack - and continue his extraordinary scoring rate — appears to have tipped the scales.
