Struggling but Steady: Borussia Dortmund Top Club World Cup Group

It was another laboured performance from the Black and Yellows

Borussia Dortmund may not be lighting up the tournament with flair, but they're getting the job done. The Bundesliga side edged past South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai with a narrow 1-0 victory to secure top spot in their FIFA Club World Cup group.

It was another laboured performance from the Black and Yellows, who continue their run of underwhelming displays — but crucially, they’re picking up points when it matters. Against Ulsan, it was far from convincing, but the result was all that counted.

Finishing first in the group proved vital. By doing so, Dortmund avoided a potentially explosive Round of 16 clash with Inter Milan. Instead, they now face CF Monterrey - a draw that significantly improves their path toward a potential quarter-final berth.
