Paris Saint-Germain have advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup as winners of Group B

Paris Saint-Germain have advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup as winners of Group B, edging out both Botafogo and Atletico Madrid on goal difference after all three clubs finished level on six points.

The final group-stage clash against Seattle Sounders played out largely as expected, with PSG dominating possession and dictating the tempo. However, it took until the 35th minute for Luis Enrique’s side to find the breakthrough — and it came in fortunate fashion. Following a corner from the right, Seattle initially cleared their lines, but Vitinha's speculative strike from distance deflected off Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and looped into the net past a helpless goalkeeper.

PSG remained in control after the break and doubled their lead midway through the second half. Bradley Barcola, drifting into the left side of the box, calmly picked out Achraf Hakimi, who rifled home from close range to make it 2–0.

Seattle only began to threaten in the closing stages, but by then the outcome was beyond doubt. Meanwhile, in the parallel fixture, Antoine Griezmann's goal handed Atletico a 1–0 win over Botafogo — a result that helped PSG leapfrog both rivals to finish top of the group.

As Group B winners, PSG will now face the runners-up from Group A.
