AC Milan are set for a summer of transition

AC Milan are set for a summer of transition, with head coach Sérgio Conceição and loanees João Félix and Kyle Walker all confirmed to be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Conceição’s departure comes after Milan’s defeat in the Coppa Italia final to Bologna, which reportedly marked the end of his short but eventful tenure at San Siro. Though he managed to win the Italian Super Cup, the club has decided not to continue with the Portuguese coach.

Another Coaching Change for the Rossoneri

The season began under Paulo Fonseca, but his stint lasted less than six months before Milan appointed Conceição to steady the ship. Despite moments of promise, the club’s leadership appears set on a fresh direction for 2025/26.

Félix and Walker Loan Deals Will Not Be Extended

João Félix and Kyle Walker will also depart following the expiration of their loan spells. Milan have opted not to activate the purchase clauses initially discussed in their agreements with Chelsea and Manchester City, respectively.

Félix, despite flashes of brilliance, struggled to establish consistent form, while Walker — brought in for experience and depth — failed to make a lasting impact in a turbulent campaign.

Big Decisions Ahead

With a new head coach to be appointed and significant adjustments expected to the squad, Milan now faces another pivotal offseason — one that could shape the club’s trajectory for years to come.
