Juventus dropped two vital points in the race for Champions League qualification

Juventus dropped two vital points in the race for Champions League qualification after conceding a heart-breaking stoppage-time goal in a 1-1 draw away to Lazio on Matchday 36 of the Serie A 2024/25 season.

Randal Kolo Muani gave the Bianconeri the lead early in the second half, heading home from close range past Lazio keeper, but the visitors’ night took a dramatic turn just 9 minutes later when Pierre Kalulu was shown a straight red card for a reckless high challenge on Valentín Castellanos.

Down to 10 men, Juventus held firm until the sixth minute of stoppage time, when Matías Vecino capitalised on a rebound after a save from Michele Di Gregorio to earn Lazio a late, emotional equaliser.

The result could have major implications in the top-four battle. AS Roma now have the opportunity to leapfrog into a Champions League spot if they manage an away win over Atalanta tomorrow.
