Driving for Mercedes, the Italian rookie posted a blistering lap time of 1:26.482, edging out McLaren's Oscar Piastri by a mere 0.045 seconds.

This remarkable achievement not only marks Antonelli's first pole position in any F1 format but also makes him the youngest driver in history to start from pole in a Formula 1 event, surpassing the previous record held by Sebastian Vettel.
