Oscar Piastri delivered another statement performance in the 2025

Oscar Piastri delivered another statement performance in the 2025 Formula 1 season, claiming his second consecutive victory by winning the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix — and with it, taking the lead in the Drivers’ Championship standings.

The race in Jeddah was decided almost immediately. Max Verstappen, who started from pole position, made a critical mistake defending into Turn 1 and was handed a five-second penalty after contact with Piastri. That penalty ultimately cost the Red Bull driver the chance to fight for victory.

Piastri, meanwhile, drove with composure and maturity far beyond his years, controlling the race from the front and crossing the line unchallenged. The win also marks a historic milestone for McLaren — their 50th Grand Prix victory on a unique circuit in the sport.

Charles Leclerc secured a solid third place for Ferrari, while former championship leader Lando Norris produced a strong recovery drive, climbing from 10th on the grid to finish fourth — though it wasn't enough to keep his lead in the standings.
