AS Roma kept their Champions League hopes alive

AS Roma kept their Champions League hopes alive with a narrow but vital 1-0 win over Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico — and it was Eldor Shomurodov, a direct rival of Artem Dovbyk for a starting spot, who delivered the winning goal.

The Uzbekistan international needed just four minutes to make his mark, calmly slotting home what proved to be the only goal of the match. Shomurodov’s early strike gave Roma the lead and set the tone for a tense but controlled performance from the home side.

With this result, Roma now sit fifth in the Serie A table, just two points behind fourth-placed Juventus. Crucially, the Giallorossi still have a game in hand, giving them a realistic shot at breaking into the top four as the season enters its final stretch.
