AC Milan are closing in on a managerial reunion, with multiple Italian outlets reporting that the club’s hierarchy has reached a unanimous decision to bring back Massimiliano Allegri as their next head coach.

The Rossoneri are currently finalizing a wider structural overhaul, including the imminent appointment of a new sporting director. After assessing a number of high-profile candidates — including Fabio Paratici, Toni D’Amico, Giovanni Manna, and Giovanni Sartori — Milan are expected to appoint former Lazio executive Igli Tare to the role.

According to Calciomercato, Tare’s top choice for the managerial post is Allegri — a preference that is reportedly shared by the majority of Milan’s directors. The decision is also backed by club owner Gerry Cardinale and technical director Geoffrey Moncada, signalling strong internal alignment ahead of a potentially pivotal summer.

Allegri, who previously led AC Milan from 2010 to 2014, famously guided the club to their last Serie A title in the 2010/11 season. He later went on to win five consecutive Scudetti with Juventus and reach two UEFA Champions League finals, solidifying his reputation as one of Italy’s most tactically astute managers.
