Fiorentina trigger contract extension for David De Gea
Fiorentina have officially activated the one-year extension clause in David De Gea’s contract, keeping the Spanish goalkeeper at the club until the end of the 2025 season.
“He will be with us next season as well,” confirmed club president Rocco Commisso, putting an end to speculation surrounding De Gea’s future in Florence. The former Manchester United No.1 originally signed a 1+1 deal upon joining La Viola last summer.
The 34-year-old is expected to receive a significant pay raise, with reports suggesting his salary will double under the new deal. De Gea has been a consistent presence between the sticks this season, featuring in 32 matches across all competitions, conceding 35 goals and keeping 10 clean sheets.
