There were doubts earlier in the day about whether the match would go ahead at all

Bodø/Glimt pulled off another famous European night in the Arctic Circle, defeating Italian giants SS Lazio 2–0 in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final tie.

Norwegian midfielder Ulrik Saltnes was the hero of the night, scoring both goals in a dominant display for the hosts. The 31-year-old captain led by example, capitalizing on Lazio’s defensive lapses to give the home side a commanding advantage ahead of the return leg.

There were doubts earlier in the day about whether the match would go ahead at all, as Bodø's stadium was buried under heavy snow. But after a UEFA pitch inspection and tireless work from the ground staff, the game kicked off as scheduled — and the local side made sure it was worth it.
