Jürgen Klopp Set for Emotional Return to Anfield on Premier League Final Day
Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is expected to make a special return to Anfield on May 25 — a day that could mark a historic Premier League title celebration for the Reds.
Liverpool are scheduled to play their final home game of the season against Crystal Palace on that date. Should Jürgen Klopp's former side maintain their lead at the top of the table, the match will be followed by a trophy presentation ceremony — potentially delivering the club's second Premier League title in five years.
Premier League: Fixtures, Results & Standings
Just two days prior, on May 23, Klopp is due to deliver a keynote speech at a fundraising gala for the LFC Foundation at Liverpool Cathedral. According to The Athletic, Klopp is expected to remain in the city and attend the Crystal Palace clash, marking his first return to Anfield since his departure at the end of the 2023/24 season.
A Long-Awaited Farewell Celebration?
If the title is secured, Liverpool are also planning an open-top bus parade through the city on May 26. This would be a symbolic moment for Klopp, who never experienced such celebrations with fans after winning the title in the pandemic-hit 2019/20 season.
Jürgen Klopp managed Liverpool for nearly nine years, transforming the club’s fortunes and winning multiple major trophies, including the Champions League, FA Cup, and Premier League. He now works as Global Head of Football for the Red Bull football group.
