The Club World Cup will be a pivotal confrontation

John Textor, owner of both Botafogo and Olympique Lyonnais, has taken a cheeky jab at Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup 2025, where the Brazilian side will face the French giants in the group stage.

Club World Cup 2025: Fixtures, Results & Standings

Known for his tense relationship with PSG since entering French football, Textor couldn’t resist the opportunity to stir the pot while speaking to DAZN.

Botafogo won the Brazilian league and the Copa Libertadores to qualify for the Club World Cup. And now, we’ll face a small team from Paris, another great historic club Atlético Madrid, and Seattle. I can’t wait,” he said with a smirk. “It’s amazing that FIFA is organizing such a global event.”

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will be hosted in the United States and feature 32 teams from across the globe, turning it into a truly global spectacle.
