Southampton Part Ways with Ivan Juric After Disastrous Season
Southampton have parted ways with Croatian manager Ivan Juric, marking his second managerial departure of the season. The 48-year-old was dismissed after leading the club to an early relegation to the Championship, as Southampton failed to secure their place in the Premier League for next season.
With just seven games remaining, Southampton found themselves 22 points adrift of safety, mathematically confirming their drop to the second tier of English football. Despite a promising start under Juric, the team’s form quickly nosedived, leaving them with little hope of survival.
Under Juric, Southampton endured a brutal run of 12 defeats in their last 14 matches, a streak that ultimately sealed his fate. The Croatian manager, who took over in late September, could not turn the club's fortunes around, and his tenure was cut short.
This marks a challenging season for Southampton, who had hoped to fight for survival but instead are facing the reality of Championship football. Juric's journey this season mirrors his short spell at Roma, where he replaced Daniele De Rossi in late September, only to be sacked in early November.
