Vincenzo Italiano is the best

Bologna boss Vincenzo Italiano has officially been named Serie A’s Coach of the Month for March 2025, following a string of impressive results that have catapulted the club into the top four of the Italian top flight.

Italiano beat out stiff competition, including Simone Inzaghi of Inter and veteran tactician Claudio Ranieri, to claim the award. His Bologna side delivered a near-perfect month, picking up four wins from four matches — including a stunning 5-0 demolition of Lazio.

The month began with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Cagliari, followed by an identical scoreline against Hellas Verona. Then came the statement win against Lazio, and a narrow 1-0 triumph over Venezia last weekend sealed an unbeaten March for the "Rossoblù".

As a result, Bologna currently sit in fourth place in the Serie A table, a position that would see them qualify directly for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

The award will be officially presented to Italiano ahead of Bologna’s upcoming clash with Napoli on Monday evening. This marks his first Coach of the Month honour for the 2024/25 campaign — and it could be the first of many, with reports linking the Italian with a summer move to AC Milan.
