Former Italy head coach Arrigo Sacchi has praised Napoli's fighting spirit following their crucial win over AC Milan, a result that keeps them firmly in the Serie A title race.

Antonio Conte’s side now sit just three points behind leaders Inter after the hard-fought victory, and Sacchi believes Napoli’s hunger could carry them all the way.

Serie A: Fixtures, Results & Standings

It wasn’t Napoli’s best performance of the season, but it was more than enough to beat a Milan side struggling defensively. Conte’s team made several mistakes — that’s understandable, they’re young — but they fight like madmen for every ball. They’re giving absolutely everything to make their dream come true,” Sacchi wrote in his column for Gazzetta dello Sport.

He went on to praise Conte’s relentless mentality: “Conte pushes hard and demands total commitment. He knows how strong Inter are and understands it will be tough to keep pace. But he’s relentless and won’t give an inch. You’ll see — Napoli will get sharper in the coming weeks.

Sacchi also pointed out areas for improvement: “I expected more control from Napoli in the second half. Leading by two goals, they made too many errors trying to close out the match. That’s something they’ll need to fix quickly if they want to keep pressure on Inter.
