Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim, head coach of Manchester United, praised his team’s growing confidence following a dominant 3–0 win over Leicester. Coming off their emphatic Europa League victory against Real Sociedad, the Red Devils appear to be gaining momentum under the Portuguese manager.

Premier League: Fixtures, Results & Standings

“ I think our game is getting better,” Amorim remarked. “When performances like this start matching the results—because in the past we didn’t always see the right scoreline—you begin to feel more confident and see things differently.”

He noted particular improvements in pressing and spatial awareness, yet admitted the team still faced moments of fatigue: “In some stretches, we lacked energy, but we still found a way to win. That’s a good sign for us.”

The manager also highlighted the impact of forward Rasmus Højlund, who opened the scoring against Leicester: “It was really important for him. He’s doing all the right things—fighting for every ball. His goal came at the perfect moment, and nobody deserved it more.”

Despite the recent successes, Amorim is quick to stress there’s more to achieve: “We’re still far from the level our fans expect. Even when we win, my mindset doesn’t change drastically. I just want us to improve and keep winning. We’re better than we were, but we’re not at the level we should be to truly satisfy our supporters.”
