Reports: De Zerbi Emerges as Juventus Managerial Candidate
Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly entered the managerial shortlist for Juventus, as the club considers potential replacements for Thiago Motta, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Motta has come under increasing pressure following Juventus’ struggles in the Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League. Italian media, including Gazzetta and Tuttosport, have previously linked the Bianconeri with Antonio Conte, Gian Piero Gasperini, Igor Tudor, and even Roberto Mancini as potential successors. Now, Juventus is reportedly monitoring Marseille boss De Zerbi, despite his contract running until 2027.
Currently, Marseille sits second in Ligue 1, trailing leaders Paris Saint-Germain by 13 points. Juventus is said to be keeping a close eye on the former Shakhtar Donetsk coach, weighing their options as they evaluate Motta’s future.
Even securing a top-four finish in Serie A may not be enough to save Motta’s job, with reports suggesting his relationship with certain players has deteriorated throughout the season.
