Chelsea's Leading Striker Out for Extended Period
Leading Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has sustained a hamstring injury, and according to The Telegraph, the forward will be sidelined until late March or early April.
The 23-year-old Jackson picked up the injury during the Premier League match against West Ham (2-1) in Round 24. Scans revealed a damaged hamstring tendon.
This injury significantly complicates the task for Chelsea's head coach Enzo Maresca, who now faces the challenge of selecting his squad for upcoming matches. Jackson becomes the third striker on the treatment table, joining Wesley Fofana and Marc Guehi. As a result, the squad now has only two available strikers: Christopher Nkunku and young Brazilian David Washington.
This season, Jackson has featured in 24 matches for Chelsea across all competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists.
