Official: Albania and Serbia to Host UEFA U21 EURO 2027
The football associations of Albania and Serbia have been appointed as the hosts for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, as announced by UEFA’s official website.
The decision was made during a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee, which approved the joint bid submitted by the two nations. The tournament, featuring 16 teams, will be held across four stadiums in Albania (Tirana, Shkodër, Elbasan, and Rogozhin) and four in Serbia (Novi Sad, Loznica, Leskovac, and Zaječar). The opening match will take place in Serbia, while the final will be held in Albania.
As hosts, both Albania and Serbia are guaranteed a spot in the final tournament. The remaining 14 teams will be determined through a qualifying competition to be held in 2026 and 2027.
This marks the first time that the UEFA U21 EURO will be hosted in Albania and Serbia. Albania is also set to host its first UEFA national team final tournament this year—the U17 European Championship. In 2022, Tirana hosted the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League final. Meanwhile, Serbia previously hosted the U17 EURO in 2011 and the Futsal EURO in 2016.
