Italy's Serie A has been named the best football league in the world for 2024, according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). The organization, known for its annual rankings, once again recognized Serie A’s financial stability and competitive appeal.

Notably, this marks the second consecutive year that the Italian top flight has claimed the top spot, reaffirming its strength both on and off the pitch.

2024-25 Serie A Standings

The ranking's top three remain unchanged from last year, with La Liga of Spain securing second place, followed by England's Premier League in third. The top five is rounded out by Brazil's Serie A and the German Bundesliga.

One of the biggest surprises in the ranking is the placement of Ligue 1 from France, which sits in a disappointing eighth position. The French top tier ranks behind Argentina's Liga Profesional and Portugal's Primeira Liga, highlighting growing competition from outside Europe.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) has suffered a significant decline, falling to 38th place in the global ranking. This marks a sharp regression from last year, when it was ranked 24th.
