Artem Dovbyk

Claudio Ranieri, head coach of AS Roma, has urged the media to ease the pressure on Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk and allow him the space to find his rhythm in front of goal.

"Artem needs more sporting aggression and determination," Ranieri told Italian media. "He’s a very kind-hearted individual, and he’s accustomed to playing in a different style. But we are starting to understand each other. Perhaps he hasn’t scored many goals yet, but he’s constantly creating chances. Leave him alone, and the goals will come with confidence."

Ranieri also pointed to Dovbyk’s current physical condition, which is not at its peak, as a factor influencing his performances. To manage his workload, the coach excused Dovbyk from yesterday’s training session as Roma prepared for Sunday’s high-stakes Rome Derby against Lazio.
