Kylian Mbappé Cleared of Assault Allegations in Sweden

Kylian Mbappé is officially in the clear—at least as far as Swedish law is concerned. The country’s prosecutor’s office has officially closed the case involving allegations of sexual assault against the French football star.

The Incident in Stockholm

In October, during a break from international duty, Mbappé visited Stockholm for a night out at a renowned nightclub. Following the evening’s events, an incident occurred at the hotel that led local police to open an investigation into allegations of sexual assault. Both the player and his legal team immediately denied the accusations, but the case proceeded.

Now, two months later, the Swedish news agency AFP reports that investigators have determined there is insufficient evidence to prove Mbappé's involvement in the alleged assault. As a result, the case has been dropped.

Mbappé’s Reaction

Addressing the incident, Mbappé maintained his innocence throughout: “I had five days off. I decided to take a break and went to Stockholm. When leaving the restaurant, I noticed photographers—how they knew I was there, I have no idea. I wasn’t involved in anything. I’m calm. I only found out about this on the plane. Swedish authorities never contacted me or anyone from my team.”
