Liverpool arrived in Catalonia as favourites, but Girona put up a decent fight against the undisputed leader of the Champions League.

In the 59th minute VAR awarded a penalty to Liverpool after van de Beek's foul on Diaz. Salah shot into the left corner with no chance for Gassaniga.

In the end one goal was enough for Liverpool to secure their sixth consecutive victory in this season's Champions League.
