Renowned Dutch manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is poised to become the new head coach of Leicester City, according to well-known insider Fabrizio Romano.

The announcement is expected to be made official soon, putting an end to speculation about van Nistelrooy's potential move to Hamburg, a club in Germany's second division where he once played during his illustrious career.

Van Nistelrooy’s most recent managerial role was as interim coach for Manchester United. Under his guidance, United secured three wins and a draw in four matches following the departure of Erik ten Hag.

Leicester City currently sits in a precarious 16th position in the Premier League table with just 10 points after 12 rounds of play. The appointment of van Nistelrooy is seen as a key move to stabilize the team and steer them away from the relegation zone.
