Following Mohamed Salah's public expression of frustration over the lack of communication regarding a contract extension, reports now indicate that discussions between Liverpool and the Egyptian forward's representatives are progressing.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool have been in contact with Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, and the negotiations are said to be moving in a positive direction. However, the sticking point remains Salah's salary demands. Already the club's highest earner, the forward is seeking an increase in his wages as part of the new deal.
