Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has set the tone for this Sunday’s Premier League showdown against Manchester United, a fixture that also marks the debut of Rúben Amorim as United's new head coach.

2024-25 English Premier League: Results & Standings

Speaking ahead of the match, McKenna expressed his pride and excitement for what he calls a monumental moment for the club:

“This weekend, we host the biggest match in world football—the biggest game in the most popular sport on the planet—right here at Portman Road. It’s happening in Ipswich, and I couldn’t be prouder.

“We’re absolutely buzzing for this. I think it’s going to be a phenomenal game. Playing Manchester United puts you on the global stage. With their new manager, everyone will be watching.

Ipswich enters the game off the back of a strong performance against Tottenham Hotspur, and McKenna is confident his team can rise to the challenge against one of football’s global giants:

“We’re coming into this on the back of a fantastic result against Spurs. Now, we’re up against one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they’re coming to our stadium. We’re ready to give them a hellish welcome.

“The atmosphere will be electric. Our players will give everything, as they always do, and I think we’ll deliver a very, very strong performance. I’m really looking forward to it—it’s going to be incredible.”

Kick-off is set for 17:30 GMT on Sunday, November 24, at Portman Road.
