Didier Deschamps

France head coach Didier Deschamps shared his thoughts following his team’s goalless draw against Israel in their UEFA Nations League Group A2 encounter.

2024-25 UEFA Nations League: results and standings

“It’s very disappointing to finish the game with a draw, especially without scoring,” Deschamps said. “We created so many opportunities, and we should have found the net at least once. We came close multiple times, but our efficiency was clearly lacking.”

While expressing frustration over the result, Deschamps highlighted the bigger picture. “We have to be satisfied because we’ve secured qualification for the quarterfinals. Of course, I’m unhappy with the result, but advancing to the next stage is what truly matters.”

France's Current Standing in Group A2

With one match remaining, France sits second in Group A2, three points behind leaders Italy and six points ahead of Belgium. To overtake Italy and claim the top spot, "Les Bleus" must win their final group-stage match against the Italians by at least two goals—a tough challenge given their current struggles in front of goal.
