Roma have officially announced the appointment of 73-year-old Claudio Ranieri

Roma have officially announced the appointment of 73-year-old Claudio Ranieri as head coach until the end of the 2024-25 season.

Former Leicester manager was selected as the successor to Ivan Juric, who was dismissed on Sunday afternoon after only two month in charge.

“Born in Rome and a lifelong Romanista, Ranieri wore the Giallorossi jersey as a player during the 1973-74 season and later served as the team’s head coach on two separate occasions (from 2009 to 2011 and in 2019). He is a true symbol of the Club’s values and one of the most respected Roman sports figures worldwide,” a statement on Roma's website read.

Roma are currently 12th in Serie A with 13 points from their first 12 matches of the 2024-25 campaign.
